At a souvenir store in the French Quarter. His life changed drastically after Katrina. He and his family had evacuated to Texas and, when he moved back, he decided that he needed to practice law again, helping individuals and small businesses. Before moving to New Orleans he had practiced law in Karachi, Pakistan. Now, he studies at the shop when he has a chance, between customers.
His wife and children are still in Texas, and he doesn't want them to move back. It’s better for his kids there. The schools are better. For now he will study and live apart from them.
He and his friend gave me I Heart New Orleans bumper stickers. They have a lot of pride in the city they live in.
