Reading Flyte, Septimus Heap, Book 2, by Angie Sage and illustrated by Mark Zug. Getting interested in this author, she said, happened by pure mistake. She and her husband were at the library and accidentally got the first one in the series instead of something else they were looking for--it said magic on the cover and was blue with a magic symbol. She was supposed to read it with her husband, but he had to go to boot camp so she's reading it alone instead.

Her favorite book of all time--Dragon Rider, by Cornelia Funke. The writer, she says, is awesome—you are part of the action, you see through the characters eyes, she writes in first person and is very detailed, though not so detailed that you get bored, just so that you can see everything.
