Panama City, FL --Main Branch of the Public Library -- August 18, 2007

Tania, the youth services librarian (on the left) and one of her favorite patrons, with a view of the Marina behind their lovely stained glass window.

They’re building a new library, further inland. They’ll miss the view of the marina, but they’ve had a few close calls with hurricanes and have been worried about losing the whole collection.

Her favorite book--A Long Way from Chicago, by Richard Peck, recommended for the 4th through 7th grade. It reminds her of Grandma who is very eccentric, and stories that her father told. In the book, kids from Chicago visit their Grandmother in a small Illinois town during the depression.
