I had the privilege of speaking with Larry at Last Word Bookshop near UPenn. A lucky man--he’s got 50,000 books at his fingertips.
He sells fiction, history, books for book clubs. He wishes book clubs would pick books that he already has a lot of--they're good books, he said pointing to a shelf. You don't have to read just Running with Scissors.
People, he said, ask for recommendations based on what they’ve read.
