Reading The Women who Knew Hitler: The Private Life of Adolf Hitler, by Ian Sayer.

When I first started this project I wanted to take photographs of people reading with the backgrounds reflecting the locales: beaches, roller coasters, cornfields and casinos. Here, I completely failed. Though, directly behind him was our nation's capitol building, I managed to take his picture from the only angle that would exclude it.

I complained about my regressing photography abilities to my aunt. She made me feel better.

But, that would be a cliché, though, wouldn’t it? My aunt said.

His favorite book of all time--he’s read it three times--Donna Flor and her Two Husbands, by Jorge Amato, a Brazilian author. The characters really came to life. He is interested in Brazilian culture, the history and the music.
